Arthur Gorson was born and raised in New York City where he established a career in film, music, and concert production. His photographic work, with artists such as Bob Marley, is widely published.
He moved to his current home in Los Angeles to take a position as feature film producer at Dreamstreet, Inc., with offices at Universal and Paramount Studios. There he developed projects with directors such as Taylor Hackford, Colin Bucksey, and Tony Scott.
Mr. Gorson’s extensive feature film screen credits as Producer include: Cronos by Guillermo Del Toro; Better Watch Out and Road to Nowhere by Monte Hellman; Cabeza de Vaca by Nicolas Echevarria; Night Watch by Timur Bekmambetov; and No Place Like Home (2019) by Perry Henzell. Among his recent short film credits are: Roots of Reggae, and A Filmmaker’s Odyssey. He produced (with David Gronzik) the 3-disc compilation for Shout!Factory The Harder They Come: Collector’s Edition (2020), which includes 5 hours of original location interviews and features.
He is a producer of The Monty Alexander Movie, which he is co-directing with Jefferson Miller, currently in production, with Wayne Jobson and Brian Jobson as consulting producers.
Mr. Gorson is active in the development and production of episodic TV. Current projects include: High Hope -The Series, created by Jefferson Miller and Gorson, with a pilot written by Chris Salewicz; and High & Outside based on tales of the underbelly of sports by former Dodgers GM Ned Colletti, (which was set to be written by the recently passed Paul Eckstein, creator/writer of Narcos and Godfather of Harlem).
He has produced more than 100 national broadcast commercials and music videos, working with innovative directors such as Dean Karr, Zack Snyder, Patricia Riggen, Alejandro Toledo, and Paul Boyd. As of 2024, Mr. Gorson’s music video productions with Dean Karr have received more than 690 Million combined views on YouTube.
His work has received numerous awards, including: Cannes Film Festival - Semaine de la Critique (Gold); Saturn Film Award; Telly Award; MuchMusic Award; and Billboard Awards. He has recently been invited to be a Founder of the Jamaican Media Alliance (JMA).
